That Same Faith

2 Cor 4:13

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,

Mark 11:23

23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

My Comments:

Paul was not one of the original apostles who walked with Jesus at the time when He cursed the fig tree and taught them that they could do the same. But note that in his letter to the church at Corinth, he wrote to them, saying that they had the 'same spirit of faith', which was demonstrated through their believing and speaking!

Likewise, we also have the same spirit of faith that they did! We don't have to look at other anointed men and women of God, benchmark ourselves against them, and feel sorry for ourselves because we don't seem to match up to their level of faith! God gives us the faith we need to fulfill the calling that He has for us!

It's not the amount of faith you have that matters; what matters is that you have the same spirit of faith that they have, because you have the exact same source of faith, Jesus!

I like what a minister by the name of Ed Dufresne had to say, and I'll just quote him directly: "God never gives a minister a bigger job than His gift of faith. He gives you the measure of faith needed to believe for what you need in that office"
