Eph 6:19-20
19 [praying (v18)] and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
NKJV
Isa 50:4
4 "The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.
NKJV
1 Sam 3:19-4:1
19 So Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the LORD.
21 Then the LORD appeared again in Shiloh. For the LORD revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
4:1 And the word of Samuel came to all Israel.
NKJV
My Comments:
I generally use the verses above to stand on with regards to praying for my pastor; or for whoever the minister taking the pulpit is; in whatever church service I'm in at that moment. No matter who it is, they need words that are inspired of God; for that's the kind that will be able to minister to the people as a whole, break bondages, and set people free! (Luke 4:18-19)
There are three things I stand on with regards to the preacher in the preparation of his/her sermons:
1. That God would give him Divine Utterance; that he can boldly give out whatever is on his heart to preach. (Eph 6:19-20)
2. That he would always have a word in due season for the people hearing the Word being preached. (Isa 50:4)
3. That none of the words spoken would fall to the ground; or be empty words per se; but full of life. (1 Sa 3:19-4:1)
But at the same time, I can also boldly stand on those verses for myself! Because I know that I also need the above in my own life too! There's a world out there who may or may not step into the doors of a church, but they can still be impacted by the words that we speak! So it is a two-fold application when we stand on the Word for utterance; both for the ministers of God, and for ourselves!
