Ex 15:25-26
25 So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them,
26 and said,"If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."
NKJV
Matt 5:17
17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
NKJV
My Comments:
One of the Names of God in the Old Testament is that of Jehovah Rapha, or 'The Lord Who Heals'. He established this as a covenant between Him and the Children of Israel, that if they obeyed the Law that He gave them, He would be their Healer (Or their doctor in today's terms).
How this applies to us in today's context is that God is still the same today as He was 2,000 years ago! He's still healing all types of sicknesses and disease that exist even now!
Some of us may be wondering how He can be our Healer when He gave a strict condition; that we fully obey every commandment given by Him to Israel in those days.
Notice what Jesus said of His purpose in the New Testament. In speaking to His disciples and the multitudes surrounding Him, He proclaimed that He came to fulfill what was required in the Law! And He did! He lived a perfectly sinless life, died for our sins and rose again on our behalf in order that the Law of God be fulfilled!
Now that He's living in us, we have a right to claim that promise that God is our Healer! So if you have any pains or sicknesses that you're suffering from, boldly go to God believing that He is your Healer!
